GP education: occupational carcinogen exposure and cancer

Employees in many workplaces are exposed to a diverse range of chemical compounds and other agents at higher concentrations and for longer periods than people in other environments. There is a strong evidence base linking some workplace exposures to a number of cancer types; the most common and well-known are cancers of the skin, lung, and bladder, and mesothelioma, but others such as laryngeal and sinonasal cancers have also been found to be caused by occupational exposures.
